Alot of people found the last point surprising - an Evo without an alarm?! The truth is that on the supermarket sites there are lots of companies willing to insure the car without one. It might be my age (43) and location but they simply were not bothered.
However with the increasing value of the red TME's i thought it prudent to insure the car "properly" so to speak, and not just somewhere cheap who would only pay trade price for a TME. Enter Keith Michaels Insurance who once again, after using them for all my other Evo's, has come up with the goods. I cannot stress how good it feels (yes - seriously!) to be using a company that you have total faith in. Yes, i paid more than at the supermarkets but the service and quality is second to none. I would like to thank Christian for the top job and i would recommend KM to anyone looking to insure their cars.
To meet the criteria of the underwriters i had to have a CAT 1 alarm fitted and hence the services of Pro Acoustics just outside Bradford, West Yorkshire. These guys did a great job and resisted drilling the car for cable entry's and bonnet switches etc. instead taking their time and doing the job right. I was very anxious about having an alarm fitted as they can make a real pigs ear of it if done badly, not the case here! One thing i didn't expect was the confidence to now simply park the car up and walk away from it - in the past i was always on tender hooks knowing that if someone wanted to take the car then it was theirs once past my disclok. Not the case now!
So in the pipeline what do we have? Well not alot but i will see how things pan out. The future of My job is in question .... yes, it really has been one hell of a year so far!!! .... and the car is a good 40 minutes from where i now live so i think usage is going to be minimal. Hopefully i will see a couple of car shows out this year and i think that will be about it., though time will tell. Onwards and upwards as ever though, i am a firm believer that all things happen for a reason...
